The extra voltage helps when going for overclocks beyond the usual voltage. You can do this via volt mod, depending on architecture. Keplar was best because you could put extra power through the card using .bat file and the hexadecimal. Maxwell was locked down to pencil mod or hard mod, gimped on maxwell. Ive not looked at pascal but im sure theres away. I wont be buying a 2080ti because what i have destroys anything and tbh i dont game much nowadays. All my money goes into crypto currency. That’s all I’m thinking really from what I’ve seen in reviews and online. The AIB boards and extra power doesn’t make much if any difference and it’s still all about the silicon lottery as with the last few gens.
I will definitely be putting a block on the card. But probably in a few weeks time once I receive my 9900k (which is on preorder) and maximus 11 formula
