Guild Wars 2

Anyone tried the latest notebook drivers from
nVidia? Have heard reports of 10fps gains in some areas which would be excellent.

Drivers for the M series cards? My partner is using the latest beta driver - release 27/8/12. Are there any newer ones? If not then it doesnt run that great on them, it also seems to make very little difference to fps if i have most stuff on high to having it on low. The laptop has a 2.8 c2d and a 280m. Its ok but not great gets anything from 12 to 30 fps. Funny thing is that it runs just about everything else fine.

Im not one for spending real money for stuff, but will think about it to get a larger bank, its a pain having mules. Cant find the option to buy more bank slots.

Pain, pure pain getting to this chest. All starts with falling into a well.

Oh Hi.

Can anyone tell me if you can still pick a few NPCs from town to tag along for a mission instead of real people?

I really liked being able to do this and not needing to rely on other players as that's just too much of a chore, is this feature still present in GW2 or is it not needed now with how the quests are set up?

Nope its not like that, its more traditional mmo now. I am starting to miss the whole on you own with npcs thing. You have large areas in which you complete tasks for people, you only really have one main quest, the rest is made up in events which generally have several tiers to them.

There are a few dungeons which you have to group up with other players.

But saying gw2 has so much more than gw1 ever had, definatally still the best mmo makers in my humble opinon.

The only bad thing i saw about farming crafting materials is the levels i gained while doing it. Death should also mean xp loss, would make the game far more interesting, but ive thought that about mmo's since originally coming from nwn pw's. You can never really get to know a build without the threat of loosing several thousand xp and carried loot when you die.

I find the best way to play is if i adventure for a few levels then use what i find to craft, when i run out i go adventuring again... then craft and so on. It does help that i have a close friend who only jewel crafts and gives me all their other mats. I intern pass on all my jewels and silver. Although saying that i did by a few hundred of the second tier leather scrap stuff, since it was only 4copper a piece.

Wish they had adopted EQ2 crafting, that was easly the best crafting ever in any mmo. For those who never played EQ2 (and possibly EQ1 - but i never played that so i dont know) You earned crafting skills which you used to combat impurities and keep the crafting process going for longer which then gave better results. None of this click... wait... result!

That's a huge amount of game time for what you've paid for tbh, it's not as if you're paying a sub now to keep your access.

Even playing two hours a night every night of the week, 250 hours is 4 months before I hit 80 on a single toon. Out of interest I'd like to see just what proportion of any given server pop is actually at 80 at this stage. Most of this forum are probably at the hardcore end of the mmo player spectrum.

There are a lot of people who dont play like this. I much much prefer start game content rather than end game, i rarely get to anything end game, i find it much more fun to play rather than speed through everything. A few people here are saying things like 'nearly there!' meaning getting to lvl 80.

If you go to the starter areas theres far more conversation going on, even some drunken roll play! Im not sure which mmo kinda transformed rpgs into a slog fest rather than an adventure but if youre looking for adventure its definatally still there you just have to look for the people who dont run around like they are on fire.
Also when the area population dies down a bit there will be more fun to be had, and people will want to party more.

I remember getting to lvl 20 in GW1 pretty much as soon as you leave the starter area (i over exaggerated... a bit). But there was so much to do quest wise following the main story no one really noticed and collecting new skills was a game in its self.

I think thats about the only thing GW2 is missing getting new skills and more dungeons, which we all know will be sorted.

Buy 100 jute at a low custom price and sell it for more. Do this with all teir 1 craftables. Easy money.
I can think of more entertaining ways to play guild wars
