The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

Hi guys!

I have recieved my new 1080Ti yesterday.

The first thing what i want to change on it,it was the lights.

I downloaded the latest mystic light app,installed,but when i tried to open it,does not opening the app at all.

I've got R5E mobo plus 5960X cpu.
Win10 64bit.

Before i had in the same rig GTX 980Ti Lightning SLI.
I could manage to change the colours on the graphics cards.

Any idea how can i fix this issue ?

Very nice looking card that! Best looking air cooled card in my opinion.

Have you tried re-installing the app (getting rid of old version) and have the latest non beta version?

Ensure there are no conflictions with software or possibly firewall, anti-virus etc?

Does it give any kind of message? Or just not open at all?

Yes i reinstalled many times. I am using the latest non beta version.
No message at all just simply won't open.

I will turn off the nod32 for a while.
We'll see what happens.

You got win10 creators installed? You could try the beta version on RivaTuner (if you installed afterburner). That seems to be conflicting with quite a lot of my software since I update windows.

Which proccessors don't bottleneck a 1080ti?

Yes i've got creators installed.
Msi AB and Rivatuner wasn't isntalled.

I just find out from Msi forum,as the Mystic Lights not supporting win10,only up to win8.

Idle 28-30°C
Load 55-60°C
I've been set up fan profile,to keep it always on low temps and silent.

I just find out from Msi forum,as the Mystic Lights not supporting win10,only up to win8.

I've sent message to Msi support,they have to do something about it.
Becauese the problem is there,and not only with videocards.

The highest fan speed is 55%.

Does Zotac fixed the 1080ti mini minimum fan speed at 44%? Because I installed last night and no luck with the fan speed.

That really depends on the resolution.

At 4k it's really REALLY hard to bottleneck a 1080ti, my 6600k only sees like 20-40% usage across all cores on games like Witcher 3, Battlefield 1 and Resident Evil 7, with the GPU seeing 80-100% usage.

But at 1080p the 6600k which is running at 4.6ghz limits my framerates - 'only' 200~fps or so on the games mentioned. The CPU/GPU burdens are reversed and you'll often see the 1080ti only being used at about 40% and the CPU cores being stressed out to maximum levels.

I think basically any i5 from 2500k and onwards will be fine for a 1080ti at 1440p+ resolutions.

Finally popped a 1080ti into my rig first new team green card in a decade since sli 8600gt. Been red since the hd 5770 but needed a card faster than a R9 390x and amd dropped the ball . Works great tho
