For the Mr Kaap.

Well impressed with this Vega so far, nice to go back to Dishonored 2 maxed out. Not even thinking about buying any new games yet, going to replaying previous games but maxed out now.
That game never starts for me, i press start and it just spins foreverOn windows 10 there is a good free game demo. One of the best I've played for looks and feel considering its just sitting there ready to play, Forza 7 demo. Very much a good test for Vega and it seems to do ok. Looks like its saturated one core but its fine with my 2.5ghz 8 core haswell when a few (older) games arent. Listed on windows store
I think it'll work but for the best possible performance, you'll want to be using a PCI-E 3.0 x16 lane (most important) and faster memory (DDR4) running at higher frequencies, tighter timings will also help.Does HBCC work as well with DDR3? How dependent is it on the speed of system RAM?
Its take a long time though.
LOL !I feel sorry for all those Vega 56 cards, it's like watching Victorian kids turn old enough to enter the mines XD
And looking at the prices it now seems like they're getting much closer to 1080Ti prices, £650 for the Vega 64 Strix (admittedly the 1080Ti Strix is a tad more than that) but there are 1080Tis for about £650.So now I guess we can put to bed AIB partners didn't want to touch Vega! Its take a long time though.
Surely that has to be the only reason? Been hinted at enough that Vega is one hugely expensive chip produce so does makes sense..For all we know the reason it took so long is AMD finally caved a little on the pricing model
Hey guys, been watching this thread for quite some time and finally got my vega. Sadly enough..
I am quite happy to see so many people getting one but i had so many issues with mine that is crazy.
I got a gigabyte vega 64 watercooled and right of the gate several apps would freeze the pc when getting details of the system, such as 3dmark.
It did run the games fine but to my shock there was maybe only a 20% performance increase when comparing with my 970?!? And thats with my 970 at much lower temps with a kraken g20 and an aio wirh 280 rad.
Wattman refused to save profile settings, i set turbo change tab and when go back to it its in balanced again.
Turn freesync off or on and it was mostly off. Sometimes out of the blue it would turn it off or on on ita own.
Core temps quite fine but fps on most games and benchmark scores were really not what i expected. About 15k score on firestrike 1080p default :/ maybe its my 4690k bottlenecking? Cant be as in neither benchmarks nor games does it ever go above 50% usage.
