Pretty sure Jay did a video on it and tested it. It just sits there completely idle.Just for interest, even though it's been stated that Crossfire doesn't work on the 5700XT has anyone chucked a 2nd card in and seen what it does? I don't like having 1 card... it's making me twitchy lol
Intesting... so looks like it does, but not officially in a weird way... interesting if you have the mGPU function in the game which is basically hardly any of them...Pretty sure Jay did a video on it and tested it. It just sits there completely idle.
Undoubtedly wait if you can, it should be a new range, but as ever it comes down to your current need and patience. Is the RDNA2 release going to be a full range from top to bottom or just a super high end card? not sure worth buying 5700xt now or wait for the rdna2 equivalent
Having success with undervolting, days of gaming.. right up until I start doing things like alt+tab out of game for a bit, watch youtube or video a via potsplayer, 5 mins in I get a lockup followed by blank screen, after restarting event log says 'Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered'. Now, I actually think this is the driver rather the the undervolting, I guess if I test further with stock clock/volts I will find out.
1950 950 GPU 82C hotspot 99C VRAM 90C ~1840Mhz reported clock ** farcry crash in perks menu **
1950 950 GPU 81C hotspot 97C VRAM 92C power +0% ~1730-1850Mhz reported clock *mostly ok, 1 crash?*
1950 990 GPU 81C hotspot 97C VRAM 90C power +0% ~1840Mhz reported clock ** hard lockup/manual restart **
1950 1010 GPU 83C hotspot 100C VRAM 90C power +0% ~1790-1840Mhz reported clock gaming fine ** hard lock with far cry running and playing video in windows **
1950 1050 jumping there testing
Should the middle voltage be in the middle? coz it auto isn't.
Freq: 800 1375 1950
Volt: 750 800 1050 do I need to get my calc out?
I'd 2nd that with OCCT GPU test, it's been my stable with Prime95 for CPU and GPU stability for years, if anything is wrong with CPU Prime95 finds it even after an hour or two... and OCCT GPU test just stresses the hell out the system.Lazy mode on... I had this page bookmarked

If you think your undervolt might be unstable try running OCCT GPU test with shader complexity at 8. I've found it spews out errors pretty quickly if it's not stable. I usually run it for 200 secs.
Context - I've been having trouble with my undervolts & the new drivers. I've concluded after a bit of testing that, for whatever reason it need's more voltage to be stable
My current undervolt is 2000/1055 & 25% on the power slider. Pretty sure I was stable at 1020mv on the old drivers. I should really do some proper testing
I'm running a bog standard Powercolour 5700XT at 2074 (runs around 2005mhz) GPU and 1900 memory at 1200mv. Absolute full chat with 99% load for an hour shows GPU at 75C and Junction Hotspot at 105C now... and it runs solid. When I decrease the voltage I'm struggling to get the core to clock anything above 1930mhz ish... so, for me, it's designed to run warm anyway, I'm not bothered about noise as I game with gaming headphones anyway.Ok thanks will test some more tomorrow. Actually crash free 5 hours there in Far Cry 5 I need a stress and idle test seems to be when it has been crashing. My temps are warm side due to me wanting less noise btw. The powerslider seems to be black magic? some people say 0% some 50% and others 25% !
I'm running 20.3.1 and it's running sweet as a nut, what version of driver you on? I've not got any problems, running RE3, COD, BF5 and Monster Hunter World all maxed and sweet and sound. I'm actually astounded how solid this driver is for me although it always always crashes on first load, restarts then perfect from there on.I've had a couple of months with this card now and I think the card and performance are great but tbh I don't think the drivers are good enough which was a concern coming back from Nvidia. I get green screens, sound cutting out requiring me to unplug and plug the display port cable, random freezes. It's such a pita as the hardware is great but there is a lot of work to be done still.
Assuming you're running at 1080P Extreme and that's maximum fps? For reference mine is:Superposition benchmark: clock @ 1900 run A: 52.85fps B: 53.15fps
Superposition benchmark: clock @ stock run A: 54.67fps B: 54.74fps
So it's 1-2 fps less in some things, decent trade-off.
