I think there's a bug when running 144+ hz monitors, vram is maxed out. Won't cause 84c idle though.

Erm? something is wrong with that, what happens when you put some load on it?
Under load is generally OK - particularly hot at the moment, but then again my room is abou 25c! I get around 75-80c at the moment in modern warfare etc.

I'll update with pics when i have a new motherboard and cleaned my system out, honestly its an embarrassment at the moment
I wonder if its just a faulty sensor then, if the underlod temps are normal.
Edit, humbug had the same idea, but i hadn't refreshed my screen. Would still need an rma, as the faulty sensor will impact fan curve.
Ok so that is odd.... i wonder if its just not reading correctly when idle? can you very carefully.... put a finger on the heat sync when its idle, is it burning hot, not just hot like a cup of tea that's been sat for a few minutes, but really hot?

You'll need to raise an rma I think (or test in a 2nd machine). It's very strange that your idle temps and load temps are the same, doesn't suggest that the cooler is broken.Yep so - touched the heatsink. Red hot. too hot to touch at idle.
BIZARELLY- yesterday, the fan was at 3 RPM (so I guess actually turned off, although I didn't physically check), and the idle temps were 60c. Now they're at 80c idle with 400rpm.
Why is it using 38W at idle? Should be <10W.
Anyone find their Radeon Adrenaline software regularly forgets its OC settings? Also mines stopped successfully detecting updates now - so have to manually check each month.
Weird - it happens to me constantly.
