In the Firestrike standard bench there are just two GTX 1080s above my Vega64 card, when I get time I am going to see if I can get past them.

I recon I can add a few points to my score.

Unfortunately my Vega64 is not the best clocker but I don't mind.

Done me by 3 points. Interesting how my graphics score is higher than yours but you're running 50mhz more on clock.

For me, the LC and LE reference Vega designs are unbeatable in terms of looks.

Well, I am a Vega64 Liquid owner. XFX model.

Running at 1,820Mhz Core, 1,035Mhz HBM2. (it'll do 1,855Mhz but, it requires WAY to much power... over 80W more just to get that extra 35Mhz)

Generally, If I am just running F@H or something, it'll run 1,775Mhz @ 1.135-1.150V. I don't press it to hard as I don't need this much card for my 1080p 60hz monitor but hey.. I got a great deal on it at $525 through Best Buy so I jumped on it. BNIB, never opened, retail.. came with the 2 games even. Prey and WolfII. Warranty as well. Got it back in September.

Oh and YES... That is an AM3+ board. FX 8320. lol. Saving up to bump my whole rig to a TR platform once the 12nm stuff hits and maybe RAM prices drop some..

When I built this AM3+ rig... that 8GB G-Skill X Series kit.. was $28!!! Its $94 now. WTF?

Yea. These packages are heavily binned. Liquid models get better binned dies.



Well, the source I have on AMD's CPU side told me to "wait for 12nm" that the "results so far were very promising". He gave me some expected clocks but they don't line up with what was "leaked" a few weeks ago.. Bit higher than with 14nm, but power usage is down a-lot.

I use a 7980XE

Binned by 8 Pack, thanks mate.

It runs quite happy at 4.8ghz which is not bad for 18/36 cores/threads.

The point I make here is although Ryzen is a very good mainstream range of CPUs AMD have a very long way to go to catch up with intel at the top end.

Man this card is so good. Still loving it, this could be the longest I have ever stuck with one GPU. Absolute beast and cost around £460, bout the same cost as a decent GTX 1070. Nothing this gen comes close to value VS performance.

So what are you going to be using next week?

Been on this card for months. Nothing on horizon to be tempted by?

VS the 1080 Ti the value per performance just romps it. GPU space seems a bit meh atm tbh. Vega 64 is just a good balance of price vs performance (Well at what I bought mine for xD)

I won't change until we see the next gen line ups. Rumors are that 1080 replacement is £600+ and 1080 Ti replacement will be £2700. Not much to be excited by if you value your coin...

Here's the Hexus article forecasting price increases in Q1 (not sure if already posted), though they say it's only US$5-20 extra - but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out somewhat higher than that.

By the time the Vendors have mentioned the Pound, Brexit and Donald Trumps haircut the figure above will probably grow a bit.
