Folks, "we" can now use RTX. https://twitter.com/EA_DICE/status/1062635899786276864?s=20

Microsoft re-released the "October" update with the pipework (DirectX) to support RTX, Dice has updated the game and we now have drivers with specific BF:V tweaks from NVIDIA. So.. All is in place.

Go play.

I intend to when the game has-actually-launched and EA are finished trying to extort people into getting it early.

I'm on the same boat. I purshased the game from the cheapest place I could find, standard version. Not in a wrorrie and certainly won't pay to have early access to beta testing.

I have every single BF game (PC) since the beginning and love the franchise, this game looks the part and from the alpha it has all the potential to be the best yet. We shall see.

What's the cheapest price you've found? Saw it £37.99 somewhere

So I have to run my 2080 Ti ~200 MHz higher clock to equal my Titan V. Kinda disappointed really. But the frame-times seem smoother to me on the 2080 Ti. Maybe placebo. I do know the Zotac AMP fans on 100% are LOUD. Good thing my EK block arrives soon.

I have found my Titan V to be the quicker card @2160p when both are overclocked.

I have not measured frametimes but I have noticed that the 2080 Ti seems to run more consistent and better minimum fps at lower resolutions but at 2160p they seem about the same. I have put this down to the Titan V using HBM which has never been great on any card I have owned (Fury X and Vega 64) at low resolutions/high fps but much better at high resolutions/lower fps.

The big plus for the 2080 Ti is I can run mGPU with NVLink, lets hope there will be more games that support it going forward.

I gave up waiting for the MSI Duke to arrive and snapped this up instead:

Hoping I can get my Strix OC 2080 Ti added to the HOF with this terrible picture of my PC and my timespy result. No longer have the box :(

Only real issue I had with the beta was visibility, but they've been proactive when speaking about addressing this. Fingers crossed.

Ya I will probably sell off my V now. A water-blocked V may be a hair faster but the 2080 Ti seems to be running quite well. Plus I guess I can mess around with RTX now.

What's the resale value of a V like? Don't think I've ever seen a 2nd hand one floating about, not that I've looked mind you.

The resale value has probably gone up a bit since the 20XX series launch as people were expecting too much from Turing.

The Titan V is not really a gaming card but a very powerful compute card and even at the price NVidia sell them (£2800) they are a bargain for professional work.
