Had a few teething problems initially (black screen crashes), which was sorted by either a fresh install of windows 10, clearing the motherboard CMOS by removing the battery, or running it with 2x PCI-e cables. Not sure which!

Running great now though. It's very quiet which I'm impressed by.

If you're not bothered about overclocking, devolt it and it'll run a lot cooler and be stable... these run hot out the box even with 3 fans on it!

It was stock when I was has having the teething problems.

Now they are sorted, I have undervolted to 1100mv and had a play around with the fan curve which is extremely conservative at stock, not going above 50/60%!

my red devil was perfectly fine as standard.
I mean the 5700xt in general is a toasty card, especially when overclocking and running normal voltage. Yeah these particular cards (red devil) probably have one of the best cooling solutions of all the 5700's, but if you can undervolt to bring it down more, why not especially as the fans won't have to kick in as much, win win in my book but eveyone to their own i suppose.

Nice one, yeah sure these hit mid to high 70's as stock out the box (might be wrong), just can't remember where I seen the review. So, devolting does make a difference. With mine (ok it's water cooled), but there's around a 10C temp difference between 1,200mv and 1,100mv, running standard clocks... that's a lot that considering, I'd have never thought it would make such a difference tbh fro such a small change.

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Radeon RX 5700 XT.

on my red devil 5700xt set 2100 core 1900 mem with water cooling going between 1.1v and 1.2v I see about (max). Fans and pump are set to 50%

2-3C on the core;
7-9C on the hotspot;
~40W power difference;
2C on the memory;
2-5C on the VRM

Did loops of heaven; superposition and timespy extreme.

Heaven used 183w vs 214w; 41c vs 43c on the core
Superposition 197w vs 239w; 42c vs 44c on the core
Timespy 220w vs 260w; 42c vs 45c on the core

only timespy showed any real difference in clock speed with 1.2v gaining ~20mhz on average

Hi, I know it's probably not the best time to buy a GPU but just bought the 5700xt Sapphire Nitro+ SE used £280 which I think is pretty decent

Sapphire has trixx booster so can scale resolution to get more fps which seems nice extra feature

Had the 980ti for around 5 years and cant use gsync with new monitor that is gsync compatible and also has freesync

Been looking at the performance between the 2070 s and not much in it and for lower price and sweet spot for 1440p

Welcome to the club mate, needs must and if you need a card you need a card, the way things are going could be close to October/November before the new gen come out... think the accouncements for nVidia are in August so I know if my card went boom right now, I'd pick up another 5700xt simple as that. Enjoy the card, let the dust settle on the new tech which I will be, see what's what and decide whether your happy with what you've got. For me, I'd need to see at least a 50% boost in all games for me to upgrade or I simply won't bother...

My mate got one today but is having problems with it only wanting to run at about 60%. I see low GPU usage was an issue, was a solution ever found for those afflicted with it?

Hi, just installed the 5700xt Sapphire Nitro+ SE I installed the sag bracket which came with it dont think I needed it but when I did the speed fan check it really made loud noise one of the fans kept hitting the Sag bracket and I couldnt stop it till I turned the PC off luckily it didnt cause damage to the fan took it off now and card doesnt seem to sag anyway lucky escape played with the card amazing performace for the price :) just wondering whats the best way to overclock it ? I looked in AMD software when I enable GPU overclocked it sets the boost to 2135mhz from the default 2035mhz when enabled GPU overclocked the Fans dont go on Idle when PC is on idle or just light web browsing whats the best way I can get them to idle while having the that overclock and fan to go idle

Attached picture of it :)

you can set a custom fan curve using afterburner or using the AMD software but most GPUs won't switch their fans on till 50-60c these days.

Don't use the auto overclock, set it manually if you want to. I don't bother with an overclock as it makes very little difference to my performance.

I see what you mean I just tried world war z and got 1-2 fps higher from 2035mhz - 2135mhz looking at GPUz it was stayed around 2100mhz , wanted to stay within AMD and not having to install something extra but if not get much extra from OC will probably leave it already comes with decent overclock

Thanks

Just went into manual GPU tuning changed max frequency (%) to 2 which is max it goes and it set gpu boost to 2135mhz and the fans idle when doing light tasks

Playing game it runs around 2090-2100 , the default it was at around 2060mhz

That card is tuned quite well and pushed a lot so doubt you will see much benefit in performance altering the settings in Adrenaline. How are the temps for you? When pushed to full usage mine got quite hot with the default fan curve.

Also try using Trixx software from Sapphire with its display scaling. It lowers the resolution 15% which shouldn't be noticeable but you will notice the performance gain.

I havent played for long but it went to around 80c this is on default fan curve

Just tried 1440p (2176x1224) 85% scale with Redeon Image Sharpening On couldnt notice any different in quality ran the benchmark in World War Z it went from 129fps to 150fps which is really nice boost, Really impressed with this card comes high clocked and trixx software :)
