The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

Hi guys.
New to the forum and to PC gaming.
My new PC runs the Radeon 5700 (AMD reference) and its horrible looking, im going to be doing a cosmetic overhaul on the PC and wondered if you can buy an outer casing to cover up the PCB.
Does anyone know of any manufacturers ? thanks

A mixture of both GPU and vram.
IE: set GPU 2100 Mhz, Vram 1800Mhz. If stable up the vram up some more to 1850Mhz, etc. Be on the lookout for game crashes.

buy a case with a metal side or look at watercooling back plates to see if they would fit with the blower cooler on it

unless you are in dire need of a few more fps just leave the card stock with a slight undervolt to keep temps lower.

Yes, is the helpful answer, you can buy a back plate to cover the pcb from ocuk .

Don't forget LN2 or rads in ice buckets as well.

Just picked up one of the B Grade Nitro+ Special Editions for £350 which was too good to ignore. That money was meant to be for a PS5 but since my move to 1440p a few months ago, I've wanted something that would give me consistent performance.

What's the recommended settings for the 5700 XT?

Read a couple of posts up from here, i just asked the same question and i also bought one of those b grade special editions yesterday lol

Start at post. #2837

Tldr

Change the fan profile
Set the voltage to 1100 and the core to 2000 ish
Try the ram at 1800
Power limit up until it didn't help anymore
Then adjust until things crash

These cards don't scale very well plus 3dmark is very biased towards CPU power particularly the standard firestrike and timespy benchmarks.

The 5700xt might not scale, but i disagree on the second part, that's why there is seperate score for cpu and gpu.i was 2nd using a 2700x, beating several 9900ks with Vegas 64s

they are hugely biased towards CPU.

my graphics scores in fire strike are higher than those at the top but because of the CPU score I'm a lot lower in total score. When you look at fire strike extreme and ultra that are not as dependant on CPU but still have an effect I'm near the top. Same goes for time spy. Superposition on the other hand doesn't rely on CPU much because its all GPU. My scores between a 1700 and my 3900 are within error.

I'm new here so thought I'd share my experience with my reference MSI card.

I got it used for roughly 350 about 3 months ago and thought it was a great deal. I had the nitro plus special edition before which was excellent but i got lots of black screens with it so RMAed it. The reference has been great tho didn't have much issues with the games I play.

One thing I did was to solve the problem of card running loud and hot, was to attach a temperature sensor at the back of the GPU core and control the case fans via motherboard bios. This helped a lot as I didn't want to hassle with external fan controllers and manage everything from the bios. This el cheapo technique worked greatly. Of course you can run case fans higher at all times but this worked great for me.

Can manage 1900 ram no problems, started at 1800 out the box.
2100 core running at 2050, 1100v , power limit at 20% though I'm not sure it needs any.
That sounds about right?
Temps hang around 60 and 83 hotspot

What SKU did you get? Reference? Air or water cooling?
