treated myself to a 4k Monitor too, however am not that impressed, prefer 1440p. Can't really tell the difference!

I'd take a picture but sick at the moment
I've not had the experience of using a native 4K screen, though I have heard there's less of a wow factor going from 1440p/2K to 4K,
whereas, going from 1080p to 1440p is very noticeable. I guess it's situation dependent and subjective, to an extent.

@will13 Here's the video.
Sorry for late reply mate, but thank you for doing this, today I reinstalled OS and redid my MESA and kernel just so it was fresh, and at first seemed to fix issue but then it soon dropped unfortunately, I took 2 benchmark runs, 1 at 3440 and other at 2560

While I don't have a pic on intel at 3440 I got avg of 149 but unfortunately didn't run a 2560 test

Theres an issue some where, you should be obliterating my score at 1440p .

What kernel/mesa(radv) version you using ?

Edit, should have looked at the hud for Mesa/Radv :o

I've tried with mainline 6.0.9, 6.1RC5, xanmod 6.1.1, and with this install it's fedora 6.0.17 or something, like I've said in past the strangest thing is if I run a rDNA2 card it's perfectly fine (I'll get a bench up)

@pete910 I re ran them with 6950XT

My CPU loses out to yours in this game but GPU obviously outscores your 6800XT which is to be expected, but as you can see I'm getting 63 more FPS from a rDNA2 card then my XTX on this system, intel 3440 score was same with the 6950

Interesting, there seems to be a issue/bug somewhere then. Glad I stayed clear of both CPU and GPUs this gen.

There is also strange issue with BF1 and 5 on the XTX, BF1 seemingly plays fine at medium but any higher and it freezes entire system on loading levels/skipping cutscenes, BF5 just crashes while changing settings yet Battlefront 2 plays absolutely fine, all are fine on rDNA2

Is this similar to the issues Ryzen had to start with being chiplet based and this is cropping up agine with their GPU's ?

From the windows benches I've seen the 7000 series can be very erratic in performance depending on game so could be firmware issue too.

I didn't know about that issue to be fair mate, and I went ryzen not long after launch with a 1700, I reckon I might just keep intel setup for now, at least no FPS issues even if 3D cache will be quicker

Indeed, Their out the gate on both platforms was good with RDNA2 shame they let the ball drop this time, feel they maybe should have just delayed until these weird issues are fixed.

Cant knock the 6800xt for me personally, the hardware encode(AMF) works well too via OBS in linux. Tbh the 290/v64 ect have worked well, skipped RDNA1.

My 5700XT Red Devil was fast AF, especially once I liquid metalled it, if I could've fed it more power coulda probably set air cooled records haha

Welcome all, TOL updated.:)

To get on The Owners List all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Radeon RX 7900 XT(X).

Cheers Matt.

To anyone here with a reference 7900 XTX - what kind of undervolting can you achieve?
I find my card crashes sometimes even at the AMD Undervolt preset which is 1125mV. This seems pretty bad :(
Is that with memory at stock and power limit at +15%? I would expect most samples to be able to undervolt to at least 1100mv.

Hey all looking for some advice here.

I have the (Sapphire Nitro) 7900 XT on pre order and am debating if I should upgrade to the XTX version and whether its even going to be worthwhile for my setup when paired with a 5600X. My primary use case will be gaming at 4k/60 where possible. Below is the setup and hardware I currently have. Does it make sense from a power/thermals point of view to upgrade at all? Because its a SFF case, I want it to be relatively quiet at load.

Ryzen 5600X
32 GB DDR4 RAM
1 TB SN850 SSD WD
NR200P Max (so comes with 850W PSU). Will be repacing the AIO fans with Noctuas for better acoutics and thermals.

That’s with memory stock and power limit at stock too. The only change is downvolt to 1125mV.
It passes every benchmark but crashed after about 30 minutes of playing New World.

I’ll test today to see if it’s even stable at default settings.
