The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

What is the smart buy here for air cooled 1080ti with no intent of going under water? Some of the higher end cards are £150 more expensive which seems mad against offerings under £700

I'm not too fussed with visuals this time around. I've not got masses of available cash but i desperately need to move away from CF 290s for 4k gaming lol so i'm just looking for a solid 1080ti with enough cooling to avoid throttling and get a bit of wiggle room from an overclock.

What voltages are you guys running your Ti's at ?

I max out at 100% in Afterburner on 1.093v and I'm wondering if it's ok to keep my max clock speeds at this voltage or go for lower speeds at lower voltage ? Temps at 1.093v are 60degree at 100% fan

It makes little difference. I have voltage, temp target and power target to the max. I then set +150 +300 and the card sits pretty solid @ 2000Mhz.

You won't do much better.

Managed to get Core at 2038 and mem at 3007 without hitting power limit, but I think it's the max I can get as I've tried 2050 and it causes driver crash, not sure there's much point in trying to go for what remains in that 12mhz gap between stable and crash. Just wanted to know that running at max voltage was safe

Yes, max voltage in Afterburner is absolutely safe.

If you shop around you can get the aorus extreme 1080ti for sub £700. That seems like the no brainer to me.

Received my card yesterday from Overclockers. Ran some tests so far on a couple of games. And it's a monster of a card at 1440.

Now I need to start saving for a G-sync monitor.

Trying to perfect these voltage curves are a nightmare if you have OCD, I can get Firestrike stable with [email protected] but it crashes heaven, Heaven can run at [email protected] but in Firestrike it cause causes downclock...

Sweet spot for both Heaven and Firestrike seems to be 2000mhz @ 1.025v BUT that causes RealBench Luxmark to trigger instability warning...

Finding the memory sweetspot without arti's was easy, but this voltage curve perfection I want to punch it

The voltage curve is not linear in terms of what voltage is needed for a given frequency. More can be just as detrimental as too little. The downclock sounds like it's hitting the power limit. I take it you're talking about adjusting the voltage points manually, and not setting a maximum voltage?

Tried doing 2000mhz @ 0.993v but get driver crash in Heaven

So I entered NVIDIA's E3 Game Ready 2017 contest on YouTube and Twitter and never thought I would ever win anything...

I've already been a loyal NVIDIA user but I'm certainly a loyal fan now and can't wait to be Game Ready with NVIDIA and my 1080ti

I haven't touched the voltage on my Ti FE - it's greyed out in MSI afterburner for me. Still got +100 on the core and +400 on the memory though, and with an aggressive fan curve it sits on 60 degrees at peak doing 4k60 during the Destiny 2 beta. I'm happy with the way my FE turned out.

Apparently the voltage isn't that important, and most of the performance gains can be had by simply sliding the temp limit and power limits all the way up to their maximums in MSI afterburner, which will let the card boost itself significantly more than before - like taking the brakes off basically.

It's a hell of a card, lightning in a bottle I think. I wonder if nVidia can keep it up with Volta.

I'll never sell this one...will be my trophy piece even long after I upgrade to the next generation GPU in 2018! I am going to use it to experiment with Water-cooling though...I'm thinking of getting a new MB + CPU and redoing my rig at the same time with water-cooling...trying to figure out where to start with pumps, reservoirs, tubing and so on but that's the fun in the hobby
