Indeed - and only 2 active processors, though I actually don't know what the SMP client shows up as in terms of active processes (since it automatically starts 4 instances) but with the PPDs that are being seen it's certainly correct :)
 
Cheers for the news, thats some points there for Cob :eek: , I'm going to have to clock this thing if i'm going to get anywhere near 16940.

I'll have to switch back to windoze as i've no idea in Linux :confused:

I'm showing two processors as i've had to do a re-install when i put vista on. Normally it would only show one, time to buy another setup cant get beat by a C2D :mad:

Ouch my production is down - must be due to the home rig being on only 4h a day now :o - don't think I've uploaded a wu from it all week :eek: and the office farm only daytime now (bar the server that is)

But thanks to cob's bits box and some geil ram thats all about to change. :D
and I can finally get my e6400 crunching and sleep at the same time.

And congrates on that mega out put cob - and were gaining again on the above teams :cool: which is always nice to see.

Edit: sorry rich - thanks for the news yet again - hows the job hunting going btw.

Lol cob I have to say very well done, that is impressive bordering on insane.

Dont get too comfy though, me and unforgiven are going to be closing you down from now on since we're both on SMP now too :).

Advice - Everyone that can switch to SMP running! See what it did for Cob!

5.5K I am amazed. My production has been utterly terrible the last week or so because of my promise to mr frenchie!

Still, my production is creeping back up slowly.

I wouldn't quite call it a single core more like 4, still nowhere like your C2D.

Averaging about 18hrs for the 1440 point WU.

I'll try clocking it tommorrow and see if i can shave a few minutes off. :D
 
Thanks for the news.

7 out of 8 clients on projects 2124-6, the ppd is nasty, around 120ppd on the opty and x2 3800+.

Compared with my 8th client (the other core on the x2 3800+), which is a project 1495 giving me 320ppd. So basically thanks to rubbish units my production is down by a 3rd.
 
Have they intentionally nerfed non-smp folding to get us to switch? The wus are horrible :(

Still a good week though, amazingly. A stomp and we're 16th overall. The more linux's that get installed the better; doing mine this weekend.

Some mahoosive tiffies. sculptor with his 2.3 million and Whitestar with a whopping 2.5 million. Very nice :D

I know it certainly feels that way but there are infact a couple of new projects out/nearly out on -advmethods which have just gone through beta.
No sign of them on my machines yet but you may find you need to mess around reconfiguring to get yourself off the server you're currently stuck on.

That said though I can't recommend the SMP client enough - particularly if you have anything C2D flavoured it will be the best thing you could do for production by a long way :cool:

As Lordshadow says, hopefully one of us (or someone else switching to SMP) will get closer to you next week but 16K will take some doing.

I've had a faily good week with my apple doing SMP most of the time, so pretty good production - 140,000 w00t!
 
SMP is deffo the way to go I think! We were 13th overall in production not long ago and it has slipped due to the craptacular WUs in circulation. Since this is a computer enthusiast forum I reckon we have the edge over most other teams as people here are more likely to give Linux a bash [bwahaha - BTI will probably be the only one to get that :p].

So cmon guys, all get your multi-core rigs dual-booted with Ubuntu and open a can of SMP-flavoured whoop-ass on those slacker teams! :D
