......ah so you didn't need to try and connect the card to the actual vertical slots in the case to run the monitor cable to, your photo shows that. Instead you managed to get the DP cable through the horizontal slot and plug it into the vertically mounted card. That would be why you can get away with a 17cm or so PCI-e cable, not needing to extend as long. Great that it still fitted to your top PCI-e slot on your board.
Is it easy enough, using the magnetic base, to fit the bracket etc to then fit the card on to..?

Does the card still show as 4x for connection and all is well and stable etc...?

The £52.59 seems to be for the black one :)

Thanks

No magnetic base but it is very easy to fit the entire thing. What I did was do a dry run, Put the bracket with the card already fitted and screwed onto it, Put the entire thing into the case to see if it needs to be slid forward or backward, Got it into the right position to give the DP cable enough room to slide through, Tighten the thumbscreen, Insert the PCI-E extension in to the mobo and then slid the bracket into position and screw theeverything down.

If you are really careful and take your time it's a 10 minute job and very easy, The card shows up in GPU-Z as PCI-E 4.0 x16 and everything is very stable, You only need to be careful with the PCI-E extension as all of them regardless of brand can be fragile so no sharp bends.

@Kaapstad

Video for the user video section. Alien Isolation running maxed out at 8K with the fairly taxing Alias Isolation TAA mod.

Earth, for now
@Dicehunter Thanks for that, got mistaken in regards to the magnetic base with one of their other types of brackets. They seem to have several.
Altho...(hopefully I'm looking at the right one at £52.59. Great that it fits the 4090 as it notes only a three slot GPU.

Considering that it fitted fine in your Corsair 500D case, I had one of those, I think that it would be fine in my Meshify II XL, being somewhat bigger.
Great result for you and glad tha tit is stable. It did seem that whilst some types can fit they prove to be less than stable with some high demanding cards. As it works fine with your 4090 the nall should be good :)
Great price as well.

having to RMA my 4090 FE, one of the fans sounds like an 80's mechanical hard drive :(

its got to be shipped back to Hong Kong before they will issue a replacement... just for a noisy fan dear god.

You sure something hasn't 'adjusted' itself into either the top or bottom fan, such as cable braiding just catching a fan blade? Or something small fallen in, through the blades and stuck in the heatsink hitting the fan from underneath? If you take the card out and spin the blades by hand can you hear 'ticking' or feel resistance?

Very annoying if you have to RMA it

the lower fan is wobbling I think is the root cause and then coming into contact with the fins, I can with very little effort pull the fan blades straight out of the unit it only appears to be held in by magnetic force

I got a 4090fe on the last drop, checked my fan's and there is no wobble at all, they run silent and smooth, not sure how long you have had your 4090fe but maybe the fan's have been updated now.

Wobbling fan - oh dear. If they are both magnetic mounts, can you swap the top and bottom fans? Still really needs to be RMA'd but I'd wait till after Xmas due to mail deliveries etc. Just trying to get you through Xmas break and being able to game.

I had two small lumps appear on the top of my 4090 FE, right near the RTX logo. Thinking it was just dust or a mark wiped it a few times as it looked to be lessening and a small bit came off.

So now I'm looking for a 4090 heatsink just to replace the top cover bit that pops off, while arguing with Nvidia this isnt normal "wear and tear". They won't/can't send me the part either.

If anyone sees one for sale, let me know lol.

@momo56 you have any probs when you had one?
I never had any problems got a cable mod lookalike lol now far better than that nvidia cable .
Do you get full performance with these vertical mount riser cables. I heard somewhere you dont.
I haven't got my 4090 connected to my riser have to figure out away to get it to connect to the back of the case ..my old 3090 was a 2 slot fitted perfect pny 4090 3 slot won't fit.:(.

My Zotac Airo 4090 died within 5 weeks, that’s my first card death in about 10 years. To be honest my MSFS sim was crashing a lot even from the beginning so I suspect it was faulty out the gate. The MSI Suprim Liquid X I replaced it with has not crashed the sim at all since I got it. PSA you can get the Liquid X much cheaper elsewhere. I got it for £1999 just before it went up to £2049

It sits at 2940Ghz all day long in MSFS with everything maxed and rarely goes over 56c and that is with the power limited to 75% ;) that’s with a custom Curve.
thinking to go liquid, plus like the design, are you still happy ?
any issues with noisy pump or noisy coil ? Let me know thanks

its getting collected today by FedEx, I'm expecting a 2 week turn around but as you can imagine there is zero commitment on the process Nvidia have I think just outsourced the whole thing their return instructions are quite obviously poorly translated effort from a Chinese supplier.

Yes very happy with it, just fitted a CableMods 12VHPR Cable this morning. You can tell when the Pump and Fans turn on but it not loud by any means, I dont hear it at all when I have my Astro A50 headphones on. Absolutely no coil wine on this either, unlike the Zotac Airo 4090 and the MSI 3080 I had previously, that thought it was a teenager it whined so much :D
