I don't think a lot of this will make it to the gaming cards.

It is a bit like comparing the GP100 and GP102 pascal cards using transistor count to see the difference in size (15.3B compared to 12B).

If Titan cards were given a bare minimum 6-8 months of being top end, i would potentially consider buying one but that's not always guaranteed, shame they don't release the Ti's at the same time but Nvidia knows that some will just buy the Titan instead of waiting.

Miss the days of the top end card coming first and staying there for some time, while not being priced over the top, ah well.

The original Pascal Titan launched last year (August) and still beats the newer 1080 Ti in most things, the only card it can not beat is the newer Titan Xp.

Having said that the GTX 1080 Ti is far better value for money as a gaming card.

I am trying a replacement for my 1080Ti black as the fans seem to make some weird resonant howling noise at exactly 32% fan speed/1200rpm and 64% fan speed 2400rpm.

Posted on EVGA's forum and opinion was mixed on whether it was normal or not so I though I would at least try and see if a replacement card is any better.

This is the issue it has - exactly the same noise.

Need to turn it up loud but you can hear the noise at about ~18 seconds and then from ~50 seconds and then gets louder at about 1 min and 2 secs and again at 1 min 42 secs.

Granted it is only at one specific fan speed so i could just set a custom fan curve but I should be able to just have it run on auto without fiddling with this and it still makes the noise as it passes up and down through that rpm range.

Does anyone else have an EVGA card with this cooler that does this?

Reasonably loud at 100%. Can't hear it when gaming with the standard OC mode on though. Have just left it on the standard OC mode now. Not worth the extra heat and noise for 3 extra fps.

If I got another Strix OC for SLI would a Corsair AX760 be enough juice to OC everything and power a custom loop? CPU is a 4790k, only other items are SSD's and a sound card I plan to add.
I would buy a 1000w platinum or titanium PSU but finding one at a reasonable price at the minute isn't easy as we're all aware.

No. You've been considering a 1000w for a reason. The minimum you should be considering for sli is 850w.

Agreed, but personally I'd go with a 1000w if the difference isn't too big (had a CM Silent Pro Gold 1000w for the past 5 years and it's been stellar, last another 5 I reckon).

Think there's one in the states but the block is made by someone else now, evga will let you remove the cooler anyway so just buy a card and suitable block.

As soon as the AMD info was available I popped out of work and pick this up from a shop 10 mins down the road.

Really happy to join the club, can't wait to see the difference from my GTX-970, maybe I get a prize (or a kick in the goolies), for having the most embarrassing post-it notes!!
