I haven't overclocked my 1080ti Sea Hawk for about 8 months. I recently overclocked it again to the same clock speeds and it crashes whilst gaming. Apart from upgrading my cpu from the i7 7700k to the i7 7800k. My only other change is from going from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p one.
My question is - does a higher resolution stress a gpu more at a given clock speed? Thanks.

It might since it's working harder. At 1080p your GPU may not have needed the extra headroom or processing power. I was able to play Destiny 2 at 4K at a certain clock speed for weeks until I turned all the settings to maximum (didn't realise they weren't all max'ed) and then it crashed within an hour. I had to dial the GPU overclock back about 20Mhz to get it rock stable again.

Well finally got my Strix 1080Ti ordered with those deal's in to my HTPC build which I am still in progress with and will be taking apart again next weekend to sleeve cables and stuff, but Kingdom Come had to be played! Should have waited for the next gen, but meh, don't mind turning down settings as its in the sitting room rig and on TV rather then main build, Plus as sad as it sounds, I wanted the RGB header on the strix card (probably the only person ever!!!!) to sync up all the inbuilt case lighting. Sadly the z370i only has a addressable header :/

Was hoping it was going to be able to hold 2100 MHz, but lands in same region as all my other 1080Ti's sadly.

Cheers though now it's in bits again hah, so not much kingdom come on the bigger screen . Need to delid the 8700k, the airflow in this case is not great and cpu runs way too hot.

Yeah, too little rad space and not enough airflow, that's the trouble with those kind of builds. Delid should help a lot, though.

My EVGA advanced rma is sorted now, should have a new 1080Ti by the end of the week i can sell then i can send the faulty one back and get my collateral payment back.

Has anyone returned a GPU bought from Nvidia?, i gave them my details on the 16th so they could give me a rma number to return my titan xp for a refund but i'm still waiting for it.

I'd do the live chat and just explain about your wanting to return the card. Did that with mine and they were very helpful.

Bought the first TXP but decided not to keep it in the end. Sent it back and had no problems getting a full refund. They were very good actually.

Are all the returns handled by Digital River? This is why I'm super reluctant to purchase anything from their store. They'll likely have an exclusive window on the next round of cards, too.

No, it's nvidia cs that are handling it, i'm guessing nobody is checking the rma applications, wont be ordering from them again.

The paypal payment is to digitalriver but the rma requests are through a nvidia customer service email.

Yes I had to return my first launch day 1080ti as it was DOA.
Painless experience, took about 5 days in total for the refund to go through.

I'd ordered another one to replace it & that arrived within 48 hours.
