Ah OK. I'm already running that PSU see, was hoping I could get away with it.Might wanna go for a 750w instead for v64.

You might get away with it. There is a guy on YouTube that tested a bunch of 500w-600w psus with Vega. Some of them worked some didn't. Obviously a high quality one like this would probably work OK at stock but if you start overclocking the card the system will definitely start crashing.Ah OK. So, now that my Red Devil is working... I have a question about coil whine.
Is it normal to get coil whine with the Red Devil? I get a very audible buzz in any benchmark or game that makes the graphics card work (Shadow of War is particularly bad).
Considering my recent PSU adventures, I tried it in another PC with a Cooler Master Real Power Pro 850W and it's definitely the graphics card.
Gibbo said few weeks back, that going to stock the Nitro, if Sapphire gives him a good deal. Will Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro return to the OC's store or it's gone forever?
Coil wine is a combination of 3 things. Capacitors, PSU power delivered and how tight is your heatsink.
First step is to untie all the screws to the right of the GPU (not the GPU ones) as you see the card upside down. Screw them again but without over doing it. Just use the similar force you hold an egg. (dont touch screws having stickers on them)
Second. By default all cards are set to 276W. Thats a lot considering the speed...
Few pages back you will find some of my settings of undervolting and overclocking.

Third. On the Global settings, set the cap limit fps to the maximum of the Freesync range your monitor is working.
Fourth. If you do not need max fps use the powersave mode. You will lose 10%-15% fps the card will consume around 176W. But no coil whine.
You will see that coil whine will be all but gone. However if you do not put your ear next to the card, you wont hear it. Nor when you play games with sound After few weeks the capacitors will behave.
Thanks for the advice!
Power save mode and limiting FPS does make it better, but it's still there and still very noticeable. It's particularly bad on Strange Brigade, whatever I do. I'm hoping that something changes, but...
Is coil whine something that a card can be RMA'd for, or is it a "feature"?
I'm really pleased with the performance of the Vega 64 - coming from a GTX970 - but I'm not sure I can deal with the noise.
Can you add me to the Roll please Kap.
Going to install her once wife and child are in bed.
In't the meantime Pic is here....https://www.dropbox.com/s/fmrl92y4fdwdn8z/devil2.jpg?dl=0
EDIT. I don't know what I'm doing with the image links.... someone help?!
Hey guys, installed my new system, but having trouble with the VEGA GPU.
When I load up afterburner or any monitoring software, my GPU is not recognized, (e.g. just stays grayed out and at 0 on AB). Is it also blank for driver version?
I have re-installed drivers and also tried the last revision of driver to no avail.
Can I play ?
