Its a shame that AMD have locked down the drivers / cards now as the Pulse would have been great as a budget option if MPT was viable given its 3 x 8pin + PCIe power limit

That’s a good option it’s a shame about the 3 x 8 pins. I would need to change my PSU. Looks like it’s only the Hellhound and MBA that have 2 x 8 pins.

Gigabyte Gaming OC is also 2x8PIN.
Hellhound is bad, according to eTeknix it has worse temps than MBA.

Is daisy chaining a no no on these cards. Specifically looking at the pulse. Two cables with one daisy chained. I tried looking it up but seems unclear.

Ok so I decided to take my Sponge Bob and Patrick pants off and strapped on the big boy pants and got the nitro xtx. Just got to wait for the waterblocks to come back in stock now

Ok guys just about to pull the trigger on a 7900xt. It's going to be put under water, but is the nitro X worth the extra over the sapphire MBA. I only game at 1080p but might give VR another go later this year

For the higher power limit yes. However because you are going under water you can also consider the Aorus, Merc and Nitro so get which is cheapest. Not sure about which Asrock cards have the highest power limit so maybe @gupsterg can confirm.

Aqua and Taichi are same PowerLimit as Aorus Elite and Nitro, due to their boost clocks. Owners shares confirm PowerLimit on Aorus Elite and Nitro.

Merc has boost clock 2615MHz on product page, but owners shares confirm it's same PowerLimit as Aorus Elite and Nitro.

The Phantom Gaming OC is boost clock 2615MHz on product page, no owners shares I have seen yet, it could be as Merc and others or same as Red Devil and TUF.

Gaming Trio Classic is MBA PowerLimit, due to clocks plus product page specifications section is 355W.

Thx for the info. Yeah the Taichi was choice number 2 as Alphacool have a block for it as well. The thing that swung it for the Nitro was its popularity on here and whats not to like about 100 quid knocked off

After a little notch cut in my Cablemod vertical bracket the behemoth that is the Nitro+ sits correctly and doesn't tilt like it used to.

On the bright side, the pulse arrives Tuesday and will no doubt be better than my overheating XFX MBA (although it did seem to boost extremely well for an MBA card, I'm almost disappointed and contemplated keeping it and just slamming a block on it)

As this is the 7900 owners thread, I just wanted to ask the question as to what graphics settings any of you might have for BF2042?

Currently I've just set it to max resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 @175Hz with the graphics preset set to Auto and all the advance graphics settings are set to off apart from VSync.
