Does anyone have any experience of the sapphire pulse cards as opposed to the nitro? Just spotted that there is a good price about for the 56 variant and likely to be better with my psu over a 64.

Can I ask a probably stupid question?

Is there anything I need to do to bring up the performance overlay other than pressing Ctrl+Shift+O?

Because absolutely nothing happens when I do that.

Thanks.

V56 Nitro is basically a V56 on V64 PCB with the 3 fan cooler. The Pulse is cut down.

Here you will find the differences between Pulse and Nitro
https://hexus.net/tech/news/graphics/114599-sapphire-adds-pulse-radeon-rx-vega-56-lineup/

Here is also a review about the Pulse
https://www.computerbase.de/2018-03/sapphire-radeon-rx-vega-56-pulse-test/2/

Apparently HBM can be clocked up to 925 but if you see the overclock section can take a +12% by using brute force.... Something I wouldn't advice, but also means it can be better with some tweaking (downvolting).

How much money you find it?

I'm glad I grabbed another Red devil Vega 64 & didn't wait any longer for the Nitro+ to turn up as the Devil's now gone back up to £499.

The Gigabyte Vega 64's still £440 but no thanks, I'd still pay the extra for the Red Devil.

Under the hot sun.
Would someone be able to tell which cards, if any, have a 0 rpm at idle feature on the cooler?

Thanks
On the Nitro I could play even EUIV, CK2 for hours during the hot summer without the fans spinning.
As the card was burning only 80W and the case airflow was good enough.
Same applies on power save mode while in WOT, which is much more demanding game than EUIV.

@nashathedog should know about the red devil.

I take it you're running Xfire? Do you have many issues with it these days?

No experience of the pulse, but it should be fine being a Sapphire.

Hi, The Vega Pulse has the Sapphire Fury pro's strongest attribute, a short pcb so part of the back's open, It's a shame they didn't use the Fury Tri-x's design again, I reckon it would have done a better job than all the Vega cards we have now including the Nitro+, I'm not sure how well the Vega Pulses 2 fan design will be as even the best aftermarket Vega's get a bit loud and fast when it comes to cooling themselves under load. It's like Sapphire completely ignored what made the Fury Tri-x such a good card, and with the Vega Pulse they only did half the job.

Hi, So far so good, thanks for asking. :)

Hi, No crossfire for me, I got another Vega Red Devil after the first was sent back due to what I think was a memory fault.

I have the Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse. It's not bad at all and is one of the more energy efficient Vegas. It performs well (much better than my previous RX 580).

It stays cool in demanding games (not seen it go above 70C) and it's fairly quiet. Fans initially ramp up, but they settle down and it's quiet thereafter.

In less demanding games the fans have a habit of continually switching on and off which can be annoying. The default fan curve is not very graceful, especially when the GPU temp is hovering around the fan on threshold.

Other than that, mine has seriously bad coil whine. It even whines on the desktop at times and does it at all fps in games (way above the sound of the fans). Would have immediately sent it back for a replacement if i hadn't been away. Sort of used to it now I guess.

To resolve your coil whine, have you tried to less the screws to the right of the of the GPU?

Suggestive of Hynix HBM then if it cannot go above 1000?
It is for sale at £399 same as the red dragon V56 currently on preorder here. Maybe it is better to wait for that seeing as it is a 3 fan card but the card itself looks massive. Maybe I should just go with a 64 if the red devil 64 goes back down to £449 on Monday but I'm only on a tx650 PSU.

The issues woth coil whine are a little worrying, is this a common vega issue or are some cards better tyanother for this?
