Happy early news everyone - since the personal stats are updated at 6am Stanford time it doesn't make much odds if I run the news now or later on - only difference is in EOC's team stats which shouldn't affect the ETAs by enough to make a difference anyway.

Cob I've put you as 0 on the single crunchers as I'm not sure we can say for certain that there was only 1 Berserker WU counted at the end of last week, since it's so close with the other two behind you I think it's probably most likely ended up a 3-way tie this week

Good standard WU's and some major borg farms now at full power following the chrimbo shutdown.

Just shy of the 40k (must try harder) but a very respectable 13th and as booyaka said the optimiser thingy is helping with the WinSMP clients here in the office (worth 800ppd if all four C2d's are running - roll on the weekend)

And some old names uping their game *tips hat again*
And better still fresh cruchers have heard the good news and are swelling the ranks *waves* welcome one and all.

A belated Happy New Year to my fellow Team 10 folders.
Maybe its paranoia or winter blues but with 7k for the week & I no longer make the top 10 in the single crunchers league & loads of red names have appeared below me in the EOC overtake list Methinks quite a few folks got a quad for Xmas.

Just spotted the new Wolfdale's. Q. will the 6MB cache & 1333MHz FSB make a big difference when folding?

The cache will make more of a difference than the FSB clock.

There was a load of Double Gromacs WUs around the other day which had got FahMon a bit confused but should be pretty tasty on any SSE2 systems

have my quad on 5 standard clients at the mo and am getting I would say 90-95% 3906 and 3907.. averaging around 4500 - 5000 ppd I would guess

has been an issue with some of the 3906 Gen 0 units I think where they just die straight off had some down time yesterday as I was getting a lot of these.. looks like they have sorted that now though

why 5 - with all the smp action I don't think anyone has done any max standard client analisys with a quad.

11th place and a tiffy \0/.

Ordered stuff to upgrade the farm which will be here Monday (the less said about that the better ) so should hopefully be running 5 quads by Tuesday, instead of the 2 quads and 1 duo I'm running now.

Bit of a mishap last night. Switched off the two WinSMP clients using the correct procedure (CTR+C) so I could play a bit of UT3. Finished killing stuff (I love hearing that "Flawless victory" ). When I restarted the clients they claimed to have missing work files, dumped the current WUs (both at 25%ish) and started new ones - bloody beta clients ....mutter, grumble, mutter.

Never mind, should all be better next week.

well with 4 clients I get around 1200 PPD / Client assumming that I am on 3906/7 units, with 5 clients I get around 1000 - 1050 PPD / Client...

Works out I believe that each frame runs around 15-40 seconds slower with 5 clients depending on the 3906/7 unit

Plus when a client is sending / reciving a unit I still have 4 going full out and if for any reason a client fails again I still have 4 going... TBH the numbers are ruff 5 is certainly no worse than 4 PPD wise and it gives a bit of a backup should any 1 client fail for whatever reason / take an age to download another unit

why kill them off ?? - i just leave them running when i'm playing COD4 etc and it never interfears at all.

I was going to but I thought it would be less likely to cause problems to shut them down properly than to risk overload. That's what I get for thinking
