Ah well not such a good week this week compared to the other teams around us but still some great combined output and we should see another team stomp early next week - top 25 here we come!
Congrats to the tiffy winners and a big welcome to the new and returning members.
If you've not been mentioned either I've made a mistake or your stats haven't changed since last week - give a shout and let us know you're still alive :o

Good week for me. Probably would have hit 28K if I hadn't lost a WU at 80% the other day. Oh well. Welcome to the new users and nice one to Mag "Mad" Man and Biffa for their epic outputs.

I also just posted the second test news. The results look pretty much the same to me.

Have come across some new oddities though so will try to iron them out - hence no tiffy-kats in my test post. It should only be giving me tiffies for active people but it's returning EVERYONE who has ever gotten a tiffy ever!

Aside from that everything seems to be working. I will go through my code and try and solve all the funny business. I'll then let you have a play rich, and see if anything needs sorting.

ZERO production from me over last ten days due to 2 dead sticks of ballistix. Currently running with only 512mb of ram!! - it's soooooooooooo slow in windows etc etc!!

Awaiting them being returned from RMA and should be back up and running over the weekend hopefully with a Q6600 instead of an E6600!!!

Welcome to all the new members and i promise to double the E6600 output when i get my ram back!

Thanks for the news rich (and SB)

Possably my best week ever with 30K and 10th

With another e6420 on it's way next week things are looking good, but our company has mergered with another architects practice and I'll will be moving to their NE london branch (save me 50mins travel each way )

It will be 1 day a week rising to 5 day by next easter - It will affect the farms output as i can't run smp as a service but means I get more time with the family :D

Now can any one lend my a quad for a day - I need to see if my passive loop will cool the beast or I just upgrade to one of the newer duel core's (e6850) as I'll never go back to fan assisted cooling (except summer maybe;)) and like my abit to much to change to a Penryn system

Q6600 @ stock has a TDP of 95W, which is only 30W more than the original Conroe chips (and oc'ing one of those will close/remove that gap). Put it this way - unless I attack it with Orthos, my Q6600 is running the same temps as my slightly oc'd E6600. I'd wager the temp on the E6600 would rise under Orthos too, but I don't have Windows on that box. :)

Thanks for the news Rich, clever disguise of Ems name. :)

Ive changed Emilys accounts to a different rig, I did it fair and square allowing for the time difference between the finish of WUs, so she will be on 1760s instead of 1440s.
Unfortunately Ill be working in Swindon for the next 3 weeks from Tuesday so Ill have to switch my rigs and Emilys to the "not on" position. Ill be back at Swindon in the New Year for atleast 3 more weeks, so it looks like Whitestar will be back at No 1 for a few months.

A big Welcome to the newbies, keep up the good work everyone. :)

Ill post this here to keep it away from prying eyes.

Emilys new rig is a Q6600 @ 3.2GHz (nice simple rock solid overclock) running Ubuntu 7.04. I installed V6 of the Linux client and for some strange reason the client dosent detect the amount of CPU cores or RAM, as the rig has 2GB of RAM I set at 1500MB during config.
The first WU it got was 2605 (1760 pts), frame time: 6.50 min, 3900 ave. ppd.
I have it running 2 clients now, frame time 11.5 min, 4409 ave. ppd.
I have no idea as to why the client isnt detecting the CPU cores, it may be that my Ubuntu disk isnt a full schilling. I will try to repeat this on another quad during the Christmas break, if I can find out why its doing this and how to do this on purpose Im sure there will be lots of peeps interested.

How very strange...

However, my Q6600@3GHz running 4 clients [all 1440 pointer WUs] gets me about 4K PPD, give or take. So there is no real advantage to the odd behaviour of your client :p

Yes it is odd, not really sure why its doing it. After installing Ubuntu I downloaded the 32bit libraries at the same time as a WU was uploading something I usually try to avoid so Im not sure if that has something to do with it. I know the client isnt recognizing the CPU as a quad and it isnt registering the amount of RAM installed so Im guessing it is probably something to do with the Ubuntu installation.
As far as ppd goes I had a try with 4 clients and it gives an average of 5,000 per day, with a 20 min frame time. Just thought if I can find a way to intentionally set up a rig this way, quite a few of us could be getting up to an extra 7,000 pts per week, per quad machine.
I dont have time to look into it tonight but will over the holidays, I want to rebuild my rigs, tidy everything up and sell off the parts I no longer need. So Ill have 3 quads to try to set up in the same way.
