Ooof! Getting close to 30K. I know we have had an extra day, but still not far off.

Rich, would it be possible to stick me on Single Crunchers? I know there is a borg out there somewhere, but I don't know where it is and looking at the stats its been ages since it dropped any points.

Single Crunchers may be temporary but be nice to be near the top of just one list for a while :p

No problemo - thought I better do it now as there's no way I'd remember till next week :p

If it's a single core machine crunching part-time somewhere it won't make enough difference to worry about I wouldn't think :)

Thanks again for the news, Rich :) Congrats to sculptor on your uber-output at the moment - I'm sure the penthouse cell will be yours in no time at this rate...although Whitestar's been there a long time and might be reluctant to leave! :D

Not quite sure how it happened, but I managed to sneak into the top 10 this week :D

Well done to all for another great week and nice to see Bigstan back.

Might be time to retire the borgs for a bit and join the single machine crunchers. I want a spangly red name too :'(

Thanks for the news Rich

Cheers for the news Rich. Don't know what the team would do without you mate!

Welcome back to Bigstan.

Made a big decision and retired the X3210. Gone back to the E6300.
Just couldn't get anything more than stock speed on the quad without temps going through the roof. Also it didn't seem to like the P965 board.:(

ppd hasn't suffered as much as I thought it would, so will stick with this combo for a bit anyway.

Keep up the foldy good work one and all and.........................

FOLD ON TEAM 10!

Heh, macrumors, my other haunt. I almost started folding for them before I joined you lot. Although my ppd these days is embarassing you wouldnt miss me! :p

I'm considering an overspecced media centre/PVR/iTunes Server/Backup box in the new year depending what sort of CPUs are on the market. Quad core without a doubt. I priced one up the other day (Q6600, RAID1 array etc) and I came to around £600 + Operating System.

Fold on peoples!

Yeah, I don't wan't to leave, it's nice up here. But there is nothing I can do to stop him at the moment. Work has to take precidence over getting the rest of the farm crunching and that will probably continue until feb next year. :(

I've been thinking about getting a Q6600 for home.
I'm going to run 2 instances of WinSMP. I have a question though.

Is the one with G0 stepping the 'Energy Efficient' one?

I'm thinking of seating it in a Asus P5E3 Intel X38 mobo with 2Gb of Crucial Ballistix RAM.

Does that setup seem good for Oc'ing or can anyone suggest anything better?

Don't know about the mobo, but the RAM should be pretty good.

Hi,

Yes the G0 stepping it the Energy Efficent one...

In my opinion you might as well go for the Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R and save yourself some money on a x38 board...

Thanks for the news rich.

All is not well in lemon central but will know more tonight after some more fault finding with 'borrowed' office equipment. :(

Edit: to add to that I needed to come into work on my monday off - pesky millionare clients - so not in the best of moods
