The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

What’s people experiences of these cards for pure performance? I’m on the fence wether to get one, are they worth the money?

I’m coming from a place of no rig, in the process of building.
I have the Zotac Amp 2080Ti and touch wood, it is superb. A little worried reading about failures but RMA for 5 years does give me peace of mind. Temps have never gone over 70c and noise is very good.

Thanks gregster and tyler_jrb
:)
This card is absolutely huge! From pictures I’ve seen! I’ve really missed having a pc your right you can’t be beat high refresh rates and keyboard and mouse!!!!
I’m really thinking about that Predator X34P monitor for this card

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your RTX 2080 Ti.

I actually dont know why you would need this Titan - 2080ti gets you stable 4k60. This would get you what, stable 4k90? Thats my very rough guess. maybe this is what the Pimax needs

I don't think its really aimed at the gaming market..the specs on it (and the article) indicate its more widely suited to data crunching than polygon shifting...and at those prices...people could SLI a couple of the 2080TI's together for something you could (probably) cook the Christmas turkey on :P

Considering the Palit gaming Pro OC, are there many users on here with this card? Happy with thermals and fan noise? Can't find any decent reviews for this model.

I sent back an Aorus and replaced it with the Strix. To say the Strix makes less noise would be quite the understatement. Would highly recommend if keeping on air (ridiculous price aside).

I need to keep length under 300mm to fit in my case so will need to be one of the dual fan style cards or I would have gone for the Asus, Zotac or MSi triple fan models.

I avoided the Palits due to their ridiculously short warranty...most of the available palits only had 12 months...was that card any different?
I'll say one thing for the Zotac I bought..at least when registering they bumped the 24 months upto 5 years (at least it takes the fear out of card fryout)

I buy a card based on warranty length usually

Im curious to know how the boost works?

I am running the evga ftw3 373w bios. Have the core set to +95 which results in a boost clock of 2115 max temp after 2hr gaming was 38.
However, what confuses me is the clock will run at 2115 80% of the time, then clock down to 2100 for the other 20%. I dont know why. Itll hold 2115 at 38 but sometimes clock down at 34, so this doesnt show thermal stepping. At the same time as the clock down the gpu power usage is roughly 80 percent, far from the power limit.
Then itll clock back up to 2115 even if the temp has risen a couple of degrees and the power usage bobs betweens 70-85.
I can run higher than 2115. Eg 2160, but then temps rise to 45 and here is where i see the thermal step. Also at 2160 i will step down a couple because of voltage/power limit at times (power % between 100-126). Combined with the thermal step, this can actually bring it down to 2115 at times.

My goal is to hold a steady clock. Maybe 2160 that bobs up and down between 2160 and 2115 with a thermal step down or two will give me an extra frame or two. But id much rather see a straight 2115.
