@Van Diemen do the step up to the xc black for free which can be flashed to the highest tier card thats if your card does not clock well.

I would also like to know how many of u guys opted for longer warrenty what with the price of them and failures.

Pretty suprised all manufacturers did not offer 5 year warrenty as standard.

Have already done the step-up, just waiting for approval & I did opt to pay the 20 odd quid for the extended warranty.

Yes, but in my case the EVGA RRP for the 2080 Ti XC BLACK EDITION GAMING is lower than the price I paid for the standard Black, so only the shipping charge applies.

Same here thought id get the 2080 added warrenty and then do the step up i sold my 1080ti & 1080 so step up almost for free so should be rocking the 2080ti soon

With this BIOS, there's no powertarget at all!
Furthermore, some guys reported, it might also run on a reference card, just one DP port is disabled!

Yea, no, I'm not downloading a random bios for my card of some dudes youtube on a forum where he has 1 post... Give the bios to someone more credible such as Hardware Nexus and let them evaluate and publish it.

The strix is indeed better in multiple categories - quieter, cooler, boosts higher

I can't answer that because value is subjective. For me it was worth it, at the time I bought the strix it was 100 pound more than the gaming oc, there is now a 250 pound gap over here.

I think most people care about performance only and not about temperature and sound, so with that in mind the strix is probably 1 to 2% faster, so you can now make a decision if you think it's worth it for your situation.

For me, I like low temps and the strix is one of the coolest. I like low noise and I can't hear the strix's fans under full load. I don't mind paying more for 1 or 2% extra and I personally prefer the aesthetics of the strix, it works well within my black/red themed case

Agreed, the strix seems to be the better card if you can get one. £250 discount from ocuk is excellent IMO.

Strix is cooler, quieter, larger cooler, pcie support plate, better aesthetics, likely better build quality.

For £150 more I think the strix is worth it over the Gigabyte.

Huge thanks for the bios mate. Works like a charm on my ref pcb Amp. Already bumped my scores in time spy from the 380watt bios.

Only downside is the dp issue. Otherwise, it's my daily driver, and I haven't had any issues.
Waterblock is pretty much needed though, since it's an xoc bios and disables pretty much anything that has to do with fans and rgb in general.

If I'm not massively into overclocking, is there a card I should look at? I was looking at the EVGA Black Edition. Don't really want to spend £1500~ for a card I'll be air cooling and not really pushing the OC.
