Hi guys, just looking for another opinion, I’m currently in talks with a seller on eBay for his used reference Vega64, he’s willing to do business at £350, his Vega64 has been used for mining for 4 months.
What do you guys think? Buy it?

I’m currently on a r9-290, i7 4770, in silverstone sugo micro itx SG11B with 625w thermaltake bronze (I think) PSU

You'd probably get away with the psu on a reference card as they don't use as much power but don't expect to be able to get 1700mhz with it. If your happy with 1500mhz with tweaked settings and lower power that's fine. Be aware the card throttles a lot at stock settings. If it were me id maybe try chance getting the guy down a little more on price also.

£300 max, I’d personally pay no more than 275 for a 2nd hand Vega64 now though but that’s just me. It’s reference blower and been used for mining at the end of the day.

Do you plan to watercool the card? If so, offer him £280. Otherwise there are custom AIB ones for less. I could see tonight some Red Devils for £215, or "buy now" Red Devil at £375

Well, he's talking about the Vega 64 Reference ... those are a bit more expensive

Did he not say he is using mini itx case..? Don't think there is enough space for water cooling and really blower style coolers are best for cases like that.

Way too much for a second-hand reference card, Can't you save up the extra for a new one? They currently come with 3 games so if you sell all three you only need to add an additional 50-60 quid to get yourself a brand new non reference Vega 64.

Because I’m using a miniITX case I’m restricted to a 2 slot GPU, as I’m using a PCIE USB adapter for my oculus rift sensors, the only other Vega64 GPU other than a reference card is an MSI Air Boost (or Burst?) but the cheapest I have seen that go for is £499.

Because I’m using a miniITX case I’m restricted to a 2 slot GPU, as I’m using a PCIE USB adapter for my oculus rift sensors, the only other Vega64 GPU other than a reference card is an MSI Air Boost (or Burst?) but the cheapest I have seen that go for is £499.

It's a shame as reference cards are really loud, That said, when I had mine I didn't do much tweaking so you can probably under volt things to improve it.
Maybe a Pascal card from the MM would be a better option?

When do we think AMD will release something more powerful than Vega 64 in the Gaming sector?

I'm in the verge of just ordering a Nitro 64, but do we think the prices may drop further? Is Vega getting a refresh onto a slightly smaller node or a respin?

Are we going to see 7nm gaming Vega 64 next year?

I can wait if it's likely that some point next year we will get either a refresh of Vega 64 or a shrink to 7nm of Vega 64.

AMD time and again said no 7nm Vega for consumers so any upgrade is Navi.
And believe me I would love to put my hands over the Vega 20.

You should be ok even with overclock. Check my settings posted here to lower the power consumption and improve perf. Maybe you could raise power limit to 30-50% if you wish so.
