As they say "Better Late then Never"

I was waiting for the 3000series but ran out of patience

and I sure didn't want to be struck at home in a lock down at 30fps or medium settings with my old GPU

My 2080Ti has been running the RAM @ 16gbps since launch, albeit an OC.

Fair point. My card even has that crappy Micron GDDR but it’s been solid as a rock.

. Crappy micron but hasn’t given me an issue, owning from near launch at an OC of +1000 24/7. Probably would do more tbh.

should be able to overclock that memory further - it looks like it can hit 17Gbps

Had it running faster for benchmarking but it was getting a bit hot for my liking. Being Micron too made me a little more reluctant to really push it.

Left it at 16gbps and undervolted it with a mild GPU OC instead.

Been running it like that for over a year and it’s never missed a beat.
