Hiya Folks,
Just Got the Sapphire nitro+ from OCUK(only £419), Beautiful card init, What a beast! But with the latest driver etc steamvr crashes and not just steamvr but the whole computer. Everything else checks out ok. Does anyone else have any problems with VR? I dont think its the card itself because everything non VR works as it should. So is it a driver problem in which case can some nice person point me to the best one. My PSU is 750 watt could that be the problem. Also is there an overclocking guide. Any help appreciated Thanks.

Undervolt it first but sounds more like a driver issue. What brand is PSU, does it have two power connectors off different lines?

Surly(don't call me Shirley) it should be OK straight out of the box(i will investigate undervolting at some point) . The PSU is a Seasonic X750 80+ gold, i am using two separate power connectors but i dont know if its on different lines.

The good thing about the sapphire card is when you are finished with it you can get your money back at the scrap yard as the amount of metal in it must be worth a few quid

How are you finding it? I've just returned a Gigabyte card as well (though due to noise rather than fault) and in a bit of a quandary as to what to get now.

should is not allowed with vega .. undervolt and the card comes to life raj ****** up when he brought this to market .. why else did amd kick him to intel ..

Wouldn't blame Raj too much. He managed to get it to market and it was bloody quick if you got a good one. Unfortunately not all were and they didn't bin them properly

only got it fitted half an hour ago, had a bit of hassle fitting it as the back of the case between the slot blanking plates was covering the output ports slightly so needed to trim the case a bit. also due to the length had to move some cables about so thats going to need tidying up sometime.
its probably going to be friday/saturday before i get a chance to play around with it.

It seems to be working now, i put my GTX980TI back in and everything worked again so i DDU,ed it to get rid of all traces of the GTX980TI and just for luck i DDU'ed it for AMD stuff as well. Then i checked the power connectors and they were both on the same line so i moved one so they are now on different lines. reinstalled the Sapphire vega64 installed driver 18.8.1 and everythings fine now. I dont know whether it was moving the power lead or just that the latest driver is crap, anyway i wont be in a hurry to update it. So thanks M8 now to look up how to undervolt it.

My reference model works fine in Oculus VR. I havent used Steam VR for a while.

I brought the vega 64 because i have a freesync monitor so i needed a gpu right now to support freesync.
