Welcome back

I know exactly where you're coming from with the dedicated box, I've had the GF's new PC (my old one) sat by my feet for the last month but it'll be getting fully deployed this weekend and I can't help but think my ankles are going to get a bit cold

doesnt help i nabbed a coolermaster mATX case from i33, its begging to be filled

once i have a job with a proper pay check....then maybe

I won't be buying anything for a few months anyway - leccy bill finally caught up with us after they worked out we weren't pre-paying any more

Little on the steep side but I was actually expecting it to be a lot bigger - plus they've let us set our monthly repayments with no interest so it's all good


I had to laugh though when the guy said it seemed a lot of electricity for a small house and he'd send an engineer around to check the meter isn't running fast

I've got most of my spending planned out for the rest of the year, so I'll not be buying hardware save accessories and bits to replace anything that fails.

As a result, ms9cw finally got away. About bloomin' time too tbh.

Nice going.

Ive been tempted by quad core goodness on a budget. Can get a Q6600 2gb ram folding for £260. Hmm . . . cant really afford it though. Or i could buy an AMD X2 6400 for my server.

Back to 2nd place in the single crunchers league with a quad doing WIn SMP - not to bad!

Also 500k Tiffy this week aswell. Good week all round for the team.

Looking forward to this mahossive team tiffy!!!!

Thanks for the news as always rich.. good work. I've just worked out my new E4600 system got enough points to put me in 5th place on the single cruncher league had it been my only machine this week. Quite suprised.

My eighth makes me look very out of place amongst the dual cores I'm just ramping up production now, moved to two diskless instances this morning and I'm getting about 200 PPD more on each instance than the WinSMP clients. Just a bit concerned that I've so far not had a WU uploaded from them yet. Total PPD is about 3100 at stock with the two diskless clients, could be interesting when I start overclocking

I am also going to attempt installing them as a service, so that I can log off and save some cycles like I did with the standard clients. I'll let you know how it goes this weekend

Tried Arch and failed this week - via FTP and iso - OS couldn't connect via my LAN so pointless.
Also try xubuntu for a short while as GUI really helps me, but couldn't strip out all the programs so went back to the server version.

Not even going to try this usb stick thingy - lost to much time trying to 'fix' a perfectly good SMP client already

What with the new winSMP beta, knocking my ppd and the above I've amazed I cleared 20k this week. must have been the 'spare' workstation I've been smp'ing on all week

Good work on the group totals, and welcome all you news folks.
