A great big warm welcome to the team!

If you haven't done so already then why not check out the Folding@Home Setup Guide and the Quickie Guide for more foldy-tastic tips especially for when you're in a rush.
Got a Dual/Quad and not scared of getting stuck in to some SMP goodness? Check out SiriusB's excellent SMP Client Setup Guide and see if you have what it takes.

Oh dear - not such a good week! :o
Still, lots of fresh blood and some fantastic tiffies to be shown off :)

Fold on Team 10!!!

If you've not been mentioned either I've made a mistake or your stats haven't changed since last week - give a shout and let us know you're still alive :o

All my clients seem to be running just dandy so far. Still get the old problem where stopping one client on a machine causes the other client to die  but apart from that, no serious problems. Not bad output this week from me, a little blip last weekend when my interweb connection was playing up so next week should be a little better. Heading off to Lanzarote on Thursday for a week so a little test to see if they run OK when I go. I'll be off to work the day after I get back so an even longer period unattended. Let's see if they start failing as soon as my back is turned like they used to in the past.

I shouldn't be in the single crunchers league Rich, I posted in last week's news thread but forgot to post in the single crunchers thread - sorry.
I'm now Folding on three rigs: GPU + SMP on the gaming rig and 2xSMP on my general purpose rig and the same on my media/download machine.

Thanks, as always, to Rich for the news and a warm Foldy type welcome to the new members :)

FOLD ON TEAM 10! :D

Thanks for the news as usual Rich.

One of my VMs developed its first ever problem this week and probably lost me nearly 4k, but hopefully stanford will be nice and send some nice WUs this way.

And i'll take this opportunity to issue a retrospective parp and claim a STOMP on Pilgrim57 who i seem to have nipped past in the last few hours. Sorry for the lack of a parp - i thought i had some way to go yet!

thanks for the news rich.

my rig has been down for days - my mate decided to 'borrow' the fuse from my mains cable - he promptly blew it (god knows how) and haven't had a chance to go get a new one yet

Why is it always the fuses you need you dont have? I've got a bizarre collection of various capacities, shapes and sizes, yet not the one i need.

Thanks for the news as usual rich :D Wanted to beat AtaRo but my string of bad WU's coupled with down time to take apart my PC and stopping to play F.E.A.R. 2 held me back :( doesn't help that i'm contending against a 5 GPU work horse + god knows what else.

just found out my ADSL migration hasnt overlapped and there is a 3 day gap, bugger! got a 3G card but that wont be on most of the time, so limited output for a while. :(

set back on the folding rig due to a supplier claiming motherboard in stock and then it isnt!!

Two stomps in the upper echelons.. a fine week indeed.

Notice that Verbal has stopped slacking and is firing on all cylinders again. Guess it was nice of him to give me a head start this time :p

Thanks for the news Rich, dont know how you keep it up but we are all sincerely gratefull. Glad you spotted my post in the attention single chrunchers post.
Emilys rig has had a tough time lately, with her client, then with core problems and finally she has been getting a lot of A1 core WUs. My one quad left folding hasnt had one A1 WU so Im p****d off that her rig has been plagued with the A1s so much so that I have swapped IDs on her rig and mine. To be fair to everyone I waited untill the end of each rigs current WU.

I really dont understand why Stanford dosent increase the points on the A1 core WUs, as compared to my sever (old AMD A64 running 256MB 8800GT) Emilys rigs output has been dire. This shouldnt happen, a purpose built watercooled quad core rig being out-gunned by a single gpu on an old rig. I would complain to Stanford but they are bound to say the A1 core WUs use less resources compared to the A2 WUs, and they seem to be having enough problems without me complaining to them about their benchmarking.
There I feel much better now Ive got that off my chest.:):)

I was away for 6 days and switched my folding rig *** due to some problems I thought I could fix. Then I came back and got things up and running and it seemed ok for a bit. Now my folding rig with 2 of my 3 GPUs is seriously playing up (a fault I haven't pinned down yet) so I'm down to one GPU. :( :( :(

I will be back!

I'm not one of them sadly, points output for the near future is going to be dire. One gfx card on rma, another overheating for some reason, and I'm back with windows until I can finally finish a gearbox design. Sad times.

Urg these new 2144 pointer SMP units are awful! In the past, I've always run two SMP clients together on my Q6600, but doing that with these units is giving me an estimated completion time after the final deadline date . My performance fraction is 0.72, so it's not even like I'm normally just scraping them in either :(. Going to have to drop back to just one, I think.
