A great big warm welcome to the team!

If you haven't done so already then why not check out the Folding@Home Setup Guide and the Quickie Guide for more foldy-tastic tips especially for when you're in a rush.
Got a Dual/Quad and not scared of getting stuck in to some SMP goodness? Check out SiriusB's excellent SMP Client Setup Guide and see if you have what it takes.

Ahh feels so good to be back over 1mil a week for team production - way to go everyone
Here's to more of the same next week!

Fold on Team 10!!!

If you've not been mentioned either I've made a mistake or your stats haven't changed since last week - give a shout and let us know you're still alive :o

Thanks Rich :) Good to see the team getting back on track - loads of new members and the average trending well upwards over the last few days. Special mentions to Senture for some crazy laptop folding and to Knat who should easily be first next week at this rate!

This Week's Active Crunchers

1 . Mattus - 57,600

I believe that's a single-machine record - 8229ppd :D Pretty much pulled everything out this week, but gonna try for 60k next week. Would gladly welcome being knocked off the top though :)

I take it the Dell is still going then :D The stats understate you because you came in midweek - 8-9kppd from a lappy is pretty impressive.

If i feel like being suicidle I could BIOS flash the clocks I want considering that software overclocking is out :(

The Dell has been rock solid for me through out its life so far, no real issues and smashing performance. I only relegated it from gaming as I'm more comfortable with my desktop.

I've also replaced the 3870 with a GTX 280, so far this thing is totally nuts! great for folding too :D

Well I'm not going to top that Mattus unless I'm away for one week :p

Had a couple of poor WUs and I've been playing TF2 a lot, looks like you'll beat me in the race :/

It's easy to forget that I originally bought my 8800 for games :p I've still got Bioshock unplayed, which I really need to get through at some point.

WU-wise I was fortunate enough to get a long string of the 1920-pointers this week, which give me really good PPD. Probably won't continue though...

That #1 spot will be mine next week!

Haven't been CPU folding on any of my home PC's but now the gauntlet has been laid down.

Thanks for the news Rich - nice to be adding to this Team 10 total again.

And top of the duel core single crunchers too :)
should be a tad better next week with a full 7 days production for my humble E6300 (or will that be E6850 ;))

I also echo what theheyes said - but the teams avg PPD is 1.1K and it now takes 2.6k to be in the top 20!
It good to have big hitters in a team, but actually 43 members with 1k ppd is fantastic
Roll on start of term when the school farms get switched on.

And a warm welcome back to pumpkinstew and his new graphic's card :D

Didn't get a full week in the single crunchers league but not too bad for what I did do.

Been having stability issues with this machine, yet again, with the SMP client and the GPU client seems to work kinda wierd - one minute it's running at about 5,000 ppd according to Fahmon and the next it's running at about 2,000 and seems to stroll up and down for no apparent reason. I've finally had enough of the perpetual beta these clients seem to be in so I've switched it over to Rosetta.

Since switching the other rigs over to BOINC. I've had no problems at all with any of them - compared to the almost daily problems I was having with the SMP client. BOINC simply works, no faffing about so I'm sticking with that for now.

If Stanford ever get the SMP client out of beta and working properly, I may consider returning but I need something that works - especially when I'm away at work.

Thanks, as always, to Rich for the news and a warm Foldy type welcome to the new members of the team :)

FOLD ON TEAM 10 :D

Cheers Rich - a personal best for me this week, #8 in the single machine crunchers! Broke into the top 200 yesterday as well... :D Going to be a long hard slog breaking the next 100 places though.

And a warm welcome back to pumpkinstew and his new graphic's card :D

Cheers, fellah. I'm like a rose between two thorns :D

You're right I did build a new machine last weekend. It's a Q6600 with a 9800GTX+, 4GB RAM, running Vista64. Haven't overclocked it yet.

The points this week came solely from the GPU while the CPU continues to BOINC on 3 and a bit cores. So look out for a jump in my RAC too as the Rosetta and SIMAP units are starting to really pile up on it now.

Couldn't pop my name into the single machine league of your excellent news could you Rich? Position mnumber 7 I make it
I should probaly be salmon pink with a star cos I'm only using one core ;)

hi, my folding name is spartan-tate,

i'd like to say thanks for the welcome. but can anyone explain this?
fahmonyn2.jpg

why are 2 of the cpu's getting around 100ppd and the other 600 ppd? and is my gpu really reaching 5000ppd?

thanks in advance, spartan225

GPUs do get lots more points - 5000 sounds about right for the 8800GT. I have found tht the Gromacs work units compute much faster than the other units for the CLI client. Im willing to bet that the other two are running the Amber core, which for me is a lot slower than any Gromacs WU (on a very similar setup).

The GPU clients are a lot better at getting through the units and I believe they are still being given extra points to attract more people to fold on their GPUs.

The CPU PPD thing could be down to each of them getting different work units, which are worth different amounts of points. What are the other 2 CPU client's projects ?
