29,500 down from last week isn't much. At least the drop in production is stabalising. We need LigerZero and Sculptor to wake from their slumbers. Also 10k isn't bad for me so I'm happy.

might try out the gpu2 client this weekend (only have a 8600GT) but need to put on the waterblock first as the stock passive cooler is very poor.

If anyone else want to joint the 30 day race to a million let me know an I'll add you to the stats

I tried for a couple of days to get my virtual machines to connect over dial-up but to no avail, so no crunching from me for a week and a half:(

Net connection is now restored, so back to full crunching as of yesterday evening :D

Oh, and dial-up officially sucks!

I did say I was on a stag weekend to Munich and that my girlfriend had turned the computer off :p There's a three day gap in my stats, which coincides with the loss we've had this week, so its not the end of the world :)

I am newly back folding though I had points from a previous participation. I am now just running a Core 2 quad machine and would like to know -
  • Might I get on the list of single machine crunchers?
  • Am I right to run a process on each of the corse of the quad core machine or is there a better way?

best route is to run either 2 x win smp clients or if your "into" linux you can run some clients that way.

Don't bother with the standard client if you have a quad.

Also consider what gfx card you have as that will pump out way more points that your cpu can assuming you have a recent nvidia card etc.

Let us know your system details and people will advise the best way forward!

Any advice for upping production would be good to compete with my son who is folding on a Playstation3 - a machine that seems pretty fast as this!
 
get 1Gb more of RAM, then do 2 x Win SMP clients and the GPU client. Alternatively, do 3 x Linux SMP client via VMWare and one GPU client for even more points (and what I am on atm :p).
 
OK, I could only find the beta GPU software. Is there a non-beta version - i couldn't see one.

Anyway I installed it and it shut itself down saying

Well I don't know what is unstable about it - it isn't overclocked and has been running happily for days with the console units. Any ideas? mIght it need a reboot even though it doesn't as for one?
