Hope i'll do a lot better next week with the more efficient AMD cores slowly getting out there Getting home from vacation definitely helps, my friend's rig is now folding again - and i have 2 friends that might get a GPU client online within a few weeks, i should get over 4000 real ppd then

I'm tempted to come back full power for one week only and have a crack at the top spot.

Got my laptop folding on its dual core and GPUs, with some occasional folding from my desktop when it's not busy.

Out of interest, is it worth getting my spare Athlon XP 2800 system folding too? And should I use the command line client?

I'm actually going to be reclaiming the folding box for use as an actual computer over the next couple of weeks. As such, I'm not going to be having the VMs running which means the CPU will probably stay on Rosetta. It's easier to maintain and pause work too.

I need to buy a graphics card for it though but I'm torn between a 9800GT and a 4850. Similar prices, but the 9800 will give a lot more PPD for the time the computer is switched on. On the flip side, the 4850 is a better card for the money.

Welcome to the team! Good to have you. You would get about 100 points a day from your Athlon 2800 so it's probably not worth the electricity unless that PC is on all the time anyway.

If you're going to get a 9800GT, get an 8800GT instead. It's cheaper, and exactly the same thing apart from the 9800 has an obscure SLI power-saving feature. nV are being a bit naughty with rebranding.

Is that the only difference? Cheers for that I'll bear it in mind. I'm penny pinching at the moment because I'm between jobs and have had a lot of outgoings recently.

Any other normal week and I'd barely make the top 10 I've also brought my overclock back up in an attempt to catch Mattus, its going to be close in the race

You can check on the race for #3 by looking at my future production graph, its interesting watching them change

My first week in a long time with no points. We had a power cut while I was away. This wouldn't normally be a problem as I have all PCs set to reboot after power loss - unfortunately, it happened after the clients changed and none of it would work

I've got everything fired up again but only the gaming rig will be Folding - one GPU client on an 8800GTX OC2 and one SMP client - see you in the single crunchers league . The rest will be on Rosetta for the time being
