25k from a single 8800gt for a week is not bad going - now that i've finished 2nd in the race to a million, going to put folding on hold just now and try some more cpu clocking.

I will be back for sure mind u!!

Had a pretty slow week, Clear Sky came out and all 3 GPU's i have running went to that instead, that along with the new worse PPD Nvidia units slowed down production quite a lot - and it will probably stay that way with all the fantastic games coming out. In January however i will get a new rig that should be pumping out a lot of points :D
 
Hi, my pc was down for re-install for last week, got it up and running now, and have my brothers 8800gtx+q6600 adding the points in, can anyone explain whi my 8800gt gets 4.7ppd and my brothers 8800gtx gets 4.5? i would have thought it would have been the other way round O_o

Yup, GTX is the older nVidia G80 chip, where the GT is the newer G92 - I think it has some optimisations which give more points.

Should be some nice PPD :D
 
I notice that OcUK are going to be stocking 256MB cards for £47 inc vat - other than the memory it seems the same specs as the cheap 512MB cards. Any idea if the memory matters much on the card?

Had a pretty poor week too :( Made the switch from a 3870 to a 8800GT, so i should be doing better soon!

Also back down to Single Machine, media center on all the time was too noisy and warm! Besides, it was only a p4 3Ghz... wasnt gettin much from it!

I hope to be doing better in next weeks! :D hehe!

well we have about 11000 in the last 24hours without his CPU and PS3(which he wont run 24/7 lol)

and in my defense i have only just reinstalled vista *his was running mid week, mine was on friday :) still have to overclock as yet and still got plenty of programs to install.

mine does better on the gromacs but no V2 and the PPD diff keeps switching who is on top, i think he is boasting ;)


whats with these amber units? 47 points for 1 lol
