A great big warm welcome to the team!

If you haven't done so already then why not check out the Folding@Home Setup Guide and the Quickie Guide for more foldy-tastic tips especially for when you're in a rush.
Got a Dual/Quad and not scared of getting stuck in to some SMP goodness? Check out SiriusB's excellent SMP Client Setup Guide and see if you have what it takes.

Fold on Team 10!!!

If you've not been mentioned either I've made a mistake or your stats haven't changed since last week - give a shout and let us know you're still alive :o

Sorry for my poor output this week, been having some major PC issues :/ Should be back to strength by next week.

Thanks for the news Rich, been a couple of good weeks for me. Unfortunately I'll be going back to my usual 20k-30K a week - Mrs didn't like the last electricity bill!!

hmm can someone give me an idea what they crunch with? like their rig + what score they got this week + how long they leave their PC on for.

I'm Q6600, 4 x 1gb ram. 3.2ghz. 4870x2 (ATi not great for crunching as the ATi client is pap from what i read). Vista 64. I leave my PC on 12 hours a day, currently running windows CPU client. I didnt like the GPU client as it made the fan spin up and that thing is noisy. But ill give it another go as i found a setting "CPU usage percentage" option and ill use it to limit the noise on my ATI cruncher..

Im also gonna try the SMP client, did a lil reading and only the less stable one is available for 64bit (cant remember the name). Is there anything else i can do? I've got the greater than 10mb file ticked so i should get a lil more points this week.

Thanks Rich - hopefully will be able to up the output now that its the easter holidays. And whilst im here...

Yay! I finally made it out of cell 50!

@Noto - welcome to the wonderful world of client configuration! You are right i thinking that the current ATI client is not all that great, particularly considering the power draw of the 4870X2. However, it should still generate some good points (although i dont have an ATI card, so i have no idea how many!). You have a couple of options if you choose to go down the SMP client route. You could run a single Windows SMP client, which should get you about 2000ppd or so i should think. However, the windows client is horribly inefficient, so its possible to run 2 at the same time, which should be worth almost double the points. This has its own problems - shutting down two clients is problematic on windows, and if you only leave the pc on 12 hours a day, it may be best to avoid this.

You could run the Linux SMP client, either on a clean install of Linux (this means no gpu folding), or run two Linux Virtual machines via VMware. The Linux client is much more efficient, and lets you take advantage of the newer A2 core. The quad core on native linux is worth about 5800ppd, give or take, and you wont be too far off that total when running two virtual machines in windows (they are brilliantly efficient). This obviously has its own drawbacks too, but it can be fun to experiment! If you need anymore info, feel free to ask - just about everyone runs a different setup, so someone is sure to have tried the config you are looking for!

Thanks Rich - hopefully will be able to up the output now that its the easter holidays. And whilst im here...

Yay! I finally made it out of cell 50!

About time you joined us in the millionaires club
But you had better get a move on to the next cell as Tomo is climibing the ranks very fast
Looking at stats i think ive got about 6 weeks before he stomps me You have about 2 weeks give or take a day or so.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

just had a power cut :mad::mad::mad::mad:

guess its starting the job from scratch again? so i should wait for this windows CPU one to finish before starting a new one in linux SMP right?

my GPU one seemed to have corrupted too although only just started it.

Magman has overtaken Sculptor to take the number 1 spot! Congrats Magman :D

Good week from me, 5th place! The 2 GPUs and 2 vmware players running notfred in my folding PC ran at full performance for 5 of the 7 days. I think on day 5 I double-clicked something which made the PC run out of free memory.. yes you could say I'm getting every last bit of performance out of the PC. Should have 4Gb instead of 2Gb soon :)

hmm can someone give me an idea what they crunch with? like their rig + what score they got this week + how long they leave their PC on for.

Happy to. This week was 56,703 from a 3.6ghz e8400, a stock q9550, a 9600gso and a 280gtx. My computers don't get turned off.

FahMon reckons this should get around 80k a week, so something went wrong while I wasn't looking

Nice to be in the top spot for single crunchers but im sure Milky^ will be trying to take it back again.

Have you seen how fast TomO is flying along ? The GTX280 i had decided to comit suicide as he went past me :(

Hopefully when/if the GTX280 is replaced i can resume my onwards march to 1,000,000 at a quicker pace.

Thanks for the news rich - Don't mean to be rude but where the commentary?
